UX/UI redesign for OpenRent – modernized the platform with smarter filters, clean listing flows, and a scalable design system.

OpenRent
I redesigned OpenRent’s web platform to streamline the property search experience and improve usability across the full renter and landlord journey. My goal was to elevate the platform’s look and feel while solving for real usability issues and modernizing the interface.
My Role:
As the sole designer on this redesign concept, I was responsible for:
• Reimagining the homepage layout with clear entry points for renters and landlords
• Designing modular property cards with improved visual hierarchy, pricing clarity, and easy scan-ability
Building out an interactive map view for listings with filter syncing, supporting faster location-based searches
• Redesigning the listing page UX, including gallery navigation, booking flow, document downloads, and tour scheduling
• Defining a clean, scalable design system using neutral tones, clear iconography, and responsive grids
• Simplifying content-heavy pages like the FAQ, blog, and testimonial sections while keeping them visually active
• Ensuring accessibility and legibility through consistent spacing, color contrast, and scalable text styles
Impact:
The redesign offers a faster, more intuitive way to browse, compare, and apply for rentals. The system is built to scale as the platform grows – supporting everything from search filters to blog articles – and delivers a clean, modern brand presence across devices.
